The Full Story

Castle Voices Choir was formed in 2013 in Corfe Castle. We took our name from the iconic castle that lies at the very heart of Purbeck, and our logo was designed by local designer Jai Danton, to reflect the castle, and the sea
Originally we had 10 members (all ladies) and over time grew to a membership of over 40.
It’s a choir of mixed voices, most of our members had never read sheet music before, and certainly were new to choral singing.
We know from the wonderful experiences we’ve shared that singing is joyful, inclusive and lifts your spirits.
We sing a wide range of well-loved music, from pop and rock to soul, jazz and beyond,
with repertoire chosen to suit the voices and personalities of our members.
Our mission is to bring people together through music, creating friendship, confidence and magical goose bump moments. Singing is wonderful for your health and wellbeing – come and discover the joy for yourself!
🎶 Singing is good for your soul 🎶
Singing in a group offers so many benefits for body and mind:
A choir is so much more than the music. It brings people together, turns strangers into a community, and friendships grow stronger through the shared melodies and harmonies.
❤️ Music connects hearts even before words can. There’s something powerful about breathing, singing and smiling together. And boy do we smile… All of our rehearsals begin with a song, and end with a smile.
💛 Choir creates community – it’s friendship set to melody. It lifts your spirit and strengthens your soul.
🌬 Singing helps improve breathing, posture and focus, while giving you time and space each week to switch off from everyday life and do something creative for yourself.
✨ Most importantly, choir is fun. For many of us choir night is the best night of the week. Whether you’ve sung for years or only in the car or shower, you are welcome at Castle Voices. You don’t need to read music or have previous experience — just enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to give it a go.
🎙️ Come sing, laugh, and have fun with us! 🎙️
