The Full Story

Castle Voices Choir was formed in 2013 in Corfe Castle.  We took our name from the iconic castle that lies at the very heart of Purbeck, and our logo was designed by local designer Jai Danton, to reflect the castle, and the sea

Originally we had 10 members (all ladies) and over time grew to a membership of over 40.  It’s a choir of mixed voices, most of our members had never read sheet music before, and certainly were new to choral singing.

The word choir often brings a preconception about the music.  A choir is a ground of voices singing in harmony or unison, sometimes a Capella, sometimes accompanied.  The repertoire of a choir can be anything, from Gospel to Jazz, Rock to Soul, from Classical and Baroque and anything in between.  Castle voices singing a mixture of genres, mostly well known songs but always I try and choose the repertoire to fit the occasion and the voices and personalities of the current choir membership.

Our mission is to get people enjoying together, to learn and grow as a community, and to make some magical moments together.

Singing is so good for your health and wellbeing, come and try us out and see the benefits for yourself!
