Choirlife

I’ve always found standing in front of a group of people who want to take something away from our encounter a little bit daunting. I’m actually terrible at end of the day appointments, because I spend the whole day wondering how it will be - even when I know it’s going to be great, good, wonderful even.

So I deliberately set aside the whole of Tuesdays. To work on the music, the admin, the marketing, and to let myself be completely absorbed by the rehearsal that comes at the end of the day.

And it always delivers.

Every Tuesday, whether dark and December, wet and windy, or like now just starting to lighten and the sunset beckons, we share a moment in our week. A moment that never fails to amaze me. A moment that is always magical. Because we can let everything else go, and just be absorbed by the shared energy, the encouragement of those around us all creating a sound, an emotion, a feeling with our voices.

Quite honestly, there is nothing quite like standing in front of a group fo people when you know that we are all going to take something wonderful, uplifting, magical away with us at the end of our our little creative space. I am so lucky to call what I do work. It is actually a love affair with music.
